Crested Butte Ski Alternative: The Current Focus
Crested Butte Mountain Alternative was a grand success since its initial opening in 1961. The Alternative recently underwent a rebirth in 2004 when the alternative was “re-opened” by Tim and Diane Mueller. CNL lifestyle properties being the new owner of the alternative, with the Mueller’s still running the operational wheels, has invested $315 million in on and off mountain improvements and facilities. The Mueller’s remain focused on evolving and popularizing the alternative in order to answer the growing needs of the community, at the same time, upholding the native culture. To achieve this function, they aim at improving overall guest experience, by renovating the alternative to suit the needs and requisites of a cosmopolitan public.
